With the recent Chrome and Safari browser updates, an important feature in Perle has stopped working. You’ll notice the animation of the Featured Posts no longer appearing, which leaves your homepage with a large gap under the main Featured Post. The bug has been fixed so please update your theme to version 1.3.6 of Perle.
Updates can easily be done from your site’s dashboard. If you’re not seeing an update, make sure your license key is active under Appearance > Theme Start Page.
If your theme’s license is expired, I highly recommend renewing it. This provides you with important updates—such as this one—as well as premium support and new theme features. We always offer a 40% discount on renewals.
To renew, simply log into your Nudge Themes account then click License key > View license >. From there, click Renew License. The discount will automatically get added to your cart.
If you do not wish to renew your theme, I am providing the update for the file which needs to be replaced below, without additional support.
Updating the code yourself
The following will allow you to fix the bug which appeared in the latest versions of Chrome and Safari. This option is offered without support.
Please be sure you have a copy of your current theme before updating the file.
In order to fix things you’ll need to update two files in the theme: viewport-checker.js and functions.php.
The first file, viewport-checker.js, can be found inside the js folder of the theme.
Replace that file’s code with the code here.
Next, we want to make sure everyone sees the fix, so you’ll have to replace the version number of viewport-checker.js which can be found on line 137 of the theme’s functions.php file.
wp_enqueue_script( 'perle-viewport-checker', get_template_directory_uri() . '/js/viewport-checker.js', array(), '1.0', true );
wp_enqueue_script( 'perle-viewport-checker', get_template_directory_uri() . '/js/viewport-checker.js', array(), '20170929', true );
Editing these two files will fix the issue.
